About The Story

Sepaces Film is a deeply human documentary that follows the lives of at-risk youth in Medellín, Colombia, as they face a defining crossroads: the lure of violence or the hope of transformation through mentorship, education, and soccer. At the heart of the story is Esteban Quevedo, founder of Sepaces soccer Academy, coach, and pastor. Once imprisoned and marked by the same struggles these children face today, Esteban has rebuilt his life around faith and purpose. His journey from darkness to hope mirrors the paths he now works tirelessly to create for others. The film dives into the daily realities of these children; their dreams, their challenges, and their triumphs while painting a vivid portrait of Comuna 13’s vibrant yet complex landscape. It is both an intimate character study and a rallying call for global support, directly connecting viewers to the work of Sepaces. More than a documentary, Sepaces is a movement, a story of resilience, faith, and the power of community to change lives
